4th ODI: Pakistan Win Toss, Opt To Bowl First Against Australia

DUBAI: Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bowl first against Australia in the fourth One-Day International game at Dubai Cricket Stadium on Friday (today).

With Shoaib Malik ruled out due to the elbow injury, all-rounder Imad Wasim will captain the Pakistan side against Aussies.

Left-handed batsman Saad Ali will be brought in the side in place of Shoaib Malik who suffered an injury during the third ODI.

The visitors have an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series as they defeated Pakistan in the third ODI by 80 runs in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday to win the five-match series.

The visitors would be eyeing a series whitewash to keep up their winning momentum. On the other hand, Pakistan will definitely look for a win as it will boost up their momentum before going into the 2019 cricket World Cup in May this year.

Bowling Coach Disappointed

Pakistan Bowling Coach Azhar Mahmood has expressed disappointment over the performance of bowlers in the ongoing ODI series against Australia.

Azhar said, “Our plan is to give chance to young players but unfortunately they didn’t deliver according to the plan.”

“World Cup is on the way and there is still gap in the bowling department,” Azhar maintained.

“Amir is not only performing well but he is also facing fitness problems,” bowling coach said.
