5 including woman gunned down in firing on Majlis in Nazimabad

KARACHI: Five people were gunned down while three others including a woman injured when unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a religious gathering (Majlis)  in Nazimabad area.

According to eye witnesses, four armed men riding two motorcycle came to venue of the gather in Nazimabad No-4 area and opened indiscriminate fire on people attending the Majlis.

Hospital sources said that four men were brought dead to the hospital while a woman was brought with fatal injuries. The woman later succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

According to details, the attackers entered the camp set up for majlis outside the residence of a police official and opened fire at the participants. The majlis was being held in a street adjacent to the police station in Nazimabad no. 4 area.

Police and rescue sources said five people including a woman were dead and three others injured.

Police said that the incident seemed to be sectarian attack.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of firing on Majlis. He contacted Inspector General Police Sindh and directed him to submit a report on it.
