Jamshoro (May 13, 2017): Five people injured when two freight trains collided near Jamshoro on Saturday morning.
After the collision, several bogies of both the trains crashed into one another and many derailed.
According to reports, a good train carrying oil collided with another freight train parked near Bholari station.
As a result, five people including driver of one of the trains were injured. The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Jamshoro
Rescue and other officials rushed to the site and started rescue operation.
After the accident, railways traffic, both up-country and down-country trains, was halted on the track. Some six bogies of the trains were overturned and 150 tons of oil spilled over track.
Railway officials said that a relief train reached the site from Kotri and started rescue and relief operation. They said that one of the trains was going to Thermal Power House Jamshoro while the other was going to Karachi.
A senior Pakistan Railways official said it could take around 10 to 12 hours to clear the tracks and reopen rail traffic.
