CHARSADDA: At least seven people were killed while 12 others injured after three suicide bombers tried to storm a local court complex in Tangi tehsil of Charsada.
As per details, the attackers tried to entire the Tangi court complex. Police personnel tried to stop the bombers and gunned down two of them.
However, one of the attackers blew himself up. As a result seven people were killed and 12 other injured.
Following the attack security forces rushed to the courts’ complex and cordoned off the entire area.
The bodies and injured were shifted to local hospitals. Five policemen were among those injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers resorted to indiscriminate firing while trying to enter the complex through the main gate. The attackers also lobed hand grenades at the gate, which led to stampede like situation in the complex.
Police personnel deployed at the gate intercepted the attackers and an encounter ensued. Two of the bombers were gunned down by police while the third one blew himself up at the gate.
Charsadda DPO Sohail Khalid said that five people were killed and 10 other injured in the attack.
He added that security forces shot two of attackers dead, while one suicide bomber blew himself up.
