JAKARTA: An earthquake of 7.2-magnitude has jolted Indonesia’s Tanimbar islands in the Banda Sea, with its tremors being felt as far away as northern Australia.
No injuries or damages have been reported in the “shaken-up” areas, however, a number of office buildings and hotels were evacuated as a precaution.
Indonesian authorities have not issued a tsunami warning as an aftermath of the tremors.
Authorities said that the earthquake was 208 kilometres deep.
