CHITRAL: Seven people died and as many injured when avalanche hit a camp of construction company at Lawari tunnel.
The avalanche hit the camp near Lawari Tunnel burying the workers present at the camp. Bodies of seven people were taken out while seven others were rescued.
The company is constructing the Lawari tunnel project.
According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the injured were being shifted to hospitals in Dir and Peshawar.
Moreover, snowfall in Lower Top has caused electricity wires to break. Subsequently, power supply was suspended to parts of the district.
In another incident, one man died while two others injured when a snow boulder fell on him in the morning.
