MULTAN: Three days annual celebrations of Sufi Saint Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam (RA) begins in the city.
According to the details, three days celebrations of 705th Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam has been started. The custodian of the shrine, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi inaugurated the urs ceremony by giving a bath (ghusl) to the shrine.
The Urs of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam (RA) is celebrated every year on 7th Jumada al-awwal and it lasts for three days. A large number of devotees from every part of the country attends the urs.
Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam (RA) was born in the holy month of Ramadan Hijri 649. His father’s name was Sheikh Sadar-Al-Din Arif (RA).
He was raised under the surveillance of his father Sheikh Sadar-al-din Arif and Baha-ud-din Zakariya.
Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam(RA) left this world on 7thJumada al-awwal 735 Hijri.
