AC Accepts Exemption Pleas By Shahbaz, Hamza

LAHORE: Accountability Court on Saturday accepted exemption pleas filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz in cases pertaining to Ashiana Housing Scheme and Ramzan Sugar Mills.

As per details, Accountability Court heard a case pertaining to Ramzan Sugar Mills and Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme as the former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza have not appeared before the court.

Justice Jawad-ul-Ahsan of AC approved the exemption pleas of the two PML-N leaders.

The counsels of both PML-N leaders filed pleas seeking exemption from hearing of the case on behalf of their clients.

Shahbaz’s counsel told the court that his client is currently out of the country for medical treatment and cannot make an appearance in the court so he should be exempted from making an appearance. Hamza’s Lawyer Atta Tarar also submitted an exemption plea on behalf of his client and told the court that he is feeling unwell today and cannot appear before the court.

The court in its remarks questioned the Shehbaz’s counsel that is he sure about the return of his client that the latter will return to the country in four weeks. To which, Shehbaz’s counsel told the court that his medical reports are being presented regularly.
