AC Adjourns Hearing Of Ishaq Dar’s Case Till May 22

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of assets beyond mean case against the former federal finance minister Ishaq Dar till May 22.

As per details, AC’s Justice Muhammad Bashir heard a case pertaining to asset beyond means against the former finance minister in which the co-accused of the case Saeed Ahmed formed president NBP, Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi appeared before the court.

During the hearing, the lawyer of the accused Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi cross-examined the head of the Joint-Investigation Team (JIT). During the cross-examination, the JIT head told that he investigated the case on the directives of the court. He was assigned 13 questions by the court on which JIT moved forward in the investigations.

To which, the defence lawyer said that the court didn’t order to investigate Ishaq Dar. At which, Wajid Zia said that it is not true that the court did not order to probe against the former finance minister.

The defence lawyer then questioned the JIT head that did they summoned Dar for investigations? To which, the prosecutor Afzal Qureshi argued that Qazi Misbah is not the lawyer of Ishaq Dar and he cannot argue on his matter any further.

He can only question over  Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi as Ishaq Dar has been declared absconder by the court.

The cross-examination, however, went incomplete and the court adjourned the hearing till May 22.
