LAHORE: An accountability court of Lahore extended the physical remand of Khawaja Saad and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique till January 26 in the Paragon Housing Society Scam on Saturday.
As per the details, the court accepted the appeal of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of extending the physical remand of the Khawaja brothers after hearing the final arguments of the lawyers.
AC Judge Syed Najm ul Hasan heard the case pertaining to Paragon Housing Societ Scandal today where the lawyer representing Accountability Watchdogs proposed the plea that the remand of the convicted brothers should be given an extension since the Bureau is wrapping up it’s investigating upon Bank accounts.
The counsel of Khawaja brothers held an opposing stance to the NAB’s appeal and claimed that the Accountability Watchdogs were unable to reach any breakthrough in their investigation and claimed that NAB had no bank account of Khawaja Saad in their possession.
He added that Khawaja brothers had no relation with the Paragon Housing Scam and providing an extension in their remand would be illogical.
Later, the accountability court extended the physical remand of the convicted brothers by week and further summoned both suspects on January 26.
