AC Extends Physical Remand of Two Accused in Model Housing Enclave Scam

LAHORE: The Accountability Court (AC) on Monday extended the physical remand of two accused involved in the corruption scandal of worth Rs 2 billion in Model Housing Enclave.

According to details, the anti-graft watchdog produced the key suspects Farhan Cheema and Saleem Ishtiaq before the accountability court judge today.

During the proceedings, the NAB presented the investigation report in the court against the suspects.

The NAB prosecutor in his arguments said that the anti-graft watchdog inquiry against the suspects is underway for which the NAB needs more time.

The court accepted the NAB’s prosecutor request and extended the physical remand of two accused for 12 days.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Saturday arrested six suspects, including primary accused Farhan Cheema, in the Model Housing Enclave scandal.

Other suspects were identified as Chauhan Estate owners Rashid Bashir and Agha Shahid, Al-Huda Estate owner Rizwan Fareed, Al-Amin Estate owner Sajid Amin and Arham Estate owner Saleem Ishtiaq.

Primary suspect Farhan Cheema was arrested by NAB in October 2017. He was released by the court after a plea bargain of Rs620 million.
