SUKKUR: Accountability Court (AC) of Sukkur has handed over Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on an eight-day physical remand.
The PPP leader was produced before the AC Judge Ameer Ali Mehesser wherein the NAB prosecutor informed the judge that several letters were dispatched to the ex-opposition leader in NA but he didn’t cooperate with the anti-graft body.
The NAB insisted the court to be given 15-days physical remand of the leader while Shah counsel argued that his client has been made a target of political victimization while the NAB had held an investigation in the same allegations back in 2014.
The judge asked the NAB officials they didn’t submit the papers regarding the arrest and allegations against the leader, on which, the NAB officials informed the court that they didn’t bring the papers here while they are in the NAB office, on which, the Judge ordered that to bring the papers in the court within half an hour.
Commenting on the NAB demand regarding physical remand , the Judge Ameer Ali Mehesser said that he can’t give15-day remand of the accused without the complete papers while the judge asked Khursheed Shah “do you have any health issue in the prison” to which, Khursheed Shah said that he didn’t have any health issue but requested that he be allowed to bring food from home.
Later, the court allowed Khursheed Shah to be provided with home food, medical facilities and meeting with family members.
