Web Desk (September 14, 2018): Bollywood’s celebrated director, Rajkumar Hirani has confessed that people would have hated Sanjay Dutt after watching real ‘Sanju’.

Rajkumar Hirani, director of Bollywood’s recent blockbuster ‘Sanju’ has confessed in a recent interview that people hated Sanjay Dutt’s character during Sanju test screenings, forcing him to shoot scenes that create empathy for him. He further added, ‘When we got down to write, we realised he has no ambition, no want or an aspiration’.Rajkumar Hirani said, ‘later I understood that he was our hero and we needed some empathy for him’.

Hirani further added that the scene where he tries to kill himself after the verdict, which he had mentioned to me but we didn’t put in the film, I shot it later, it was not in the original script. I thought through this some empathy will come.It is pertinent to mention that Bollywood film ‘Sanju’ was a huge blockbuster with earning of 300,41,00,000. Ranbir Kapoor played the title role of ‘Sanju’ in the film.
