Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected the government insistence to publish advertisement in the British newspapers for Nawaz Sharif appearance before the court in the Al-Aziziya reference and the Avon field reference while the advertisements have been published in the country’s two newspapers.
On the orders of the court, the advertisements have been published in the two English language dailies newspapers of the country. Through the newspaper advertisements Nawaz Sharif has been directed to appear before the court on November 24.
The content of the advertisement stated that Nawaz Sharif has been given sentence of 10-year jail and fine of eight million pound and he was declared incompetent to contest elections.
The advertisement stated further that when Nawaz Sharif punishment suspended on September 19, 2018 then he was released on a bail adding that an appeal in the Avon-field reference is under hearing and Nawaz Sharif had bound to appear before the court.
On the other hand, the IHC rejected the federal government petition to publish advertisements in England to call Nawaz Sharif in the court.
Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani rejected the government petition after the hearing.
