ISLAMABAD: Newly appointed adviser on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shiekh on Saturday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan while he hinted that the budget for 2019-2020 will be presented on the day which was decided by former Finance Minister Asad Umar, May 24.
After assuming his charge on Saturday Dr. Hafeez Shiekh reached the Prime Minister housed and met the premier.
Sources said that the adviser discussed country economic challenges and its solutions besides that loan from IMF and new budget also came under discussion.
The adviser informed the PM about his guidelines for restoration of the country’s economy.
Earlier, Talking to media after visiting finance ministry the adviser finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shiekh said that he is moving forward in talks with IMF and he will talk to IMF president today this evening.
He said that he will try to move things like it was heading while medium-term strategy paper will be sent to the cabinet on April 30.
Dr. Hafeez Shiekh said that he discussed the upcoming budget at his ministry today in the morning and instructed prepare budget on lines of medium-term and he also deliberated upon to work on revenue and expenditure.
