AGP advises all parties in Panama case to accept SC verdict

ISLAMABAD: Attorney General for Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali on Thursday all parties in the Panamagate case to accept the verdict of the apex court in the matter no matter against whom it came.

The AGP was talking to journalists at Supreme Court.  Ausaf said that Supreme Court was one of the most important institutions of the country, calling for allowing state institutions to discharge their duties freely.

He added that the parties in the Panama case should not be emotional and accept whatever decision the SC give on the petition.

It is to be mentioned here that the five-member full bench of Supreme Court will announce its reserved verdict on Panama case.  Several petitioners prominently PTI chief Imran Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid  petitioned the Supreme Court mainly seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf for featuring his family members name in Panama case.

The verdict was reserved by the Supreme Court on February 23 this year. The full bench was led by Justice Asif Saeek Khosa.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has directed the Islamabad administration for ensuring foolproof security of the Supreme Court and the adjoining areas by the Rangers today.

In a statement, he said only those persons will be allowed to enter the Supreme Court premises who have passes or security cards issued by Registrar of Supreme Court. He also directed Rangers to assist police in ensuring fool proof security.
