Islamabad (August 29, 2017)The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) has revealed the misappropriation of Rs 313 billion and 240 million rupees in inland revenue of FBR report of Inland Revenue and Customs for audit year 2016-17.
Report found that fraud, theft and misuse of state resources caused the loss of two billion and 400 million rupees.
“Shortcomings in internal control systems caused the loss of 11.53 billion rupees and low recovery and over payment caused the loss of 14 billion rupees,” it said.
Report also revealed that 55.73 billion rupees were uncollectible on accounts receivable from 695 persons while government exchequer was damaged of Rs 16 billion by hiding assets and incomes in 97 cases.
The amount of over Rs 10 billion yet to receive regarding fines from .323 million persons. FBR has also given leniency to 12 most rich persons that caused the loss of 6.24 billion rupees.
