Lahore: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal statement regarding oversees Pakistanis is condemnable adding that the government is determined to involve overseas Pakistanis in the next general elections.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore today, he lauded the role of overseas Pakistanis in the national development by sending remittances to Pakistan in record numbers.
Dr. Shahbaz Gill said all arrangements are being finalised for use of electronic voting machines in the next general elections. He said some six hundred Electronic Voting Machines will be manufactured during next three months.
He was responding to Ahsan Iqbal presser in Lahore yesterday in which he said that that the incumbent government wanted to “steal” the next general elections by passing the bill on electoral reforms and introducing the electronic voting machine (EVM).
Addressing a press conference at the party secretariat in Iqbal said the PML-N government at the time had passed the legislation to amend the election laws in consultation with the opposition parties while the PTI passed the ordinances.
If allowed, then every party will bring its own law to steal elections, he said.
