Air Ambulance Arrives in Lahore to Take Nawaz Abroad

LAHORE: An air ambulance from Qatar has arrived at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore for shifting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to London for medical treatment.

According to sources, the ambulance, which arrived at 8:45am was obtained on rent by the family and will take Nawaz from the Hajj terminal.

The air ambulance will be given clearance till 12pm, sources added.

The air ambulance is equipped with an ICU and fully functional operation theater.

The family doctor of Sharifs, Dr Adnan Khan in a tweet said: “Former PM #NawazSharif will depart for London, UK [United Kingdom] via Doha, Qatar in an Airbus A-319-133LR / A7-MED Air Ambulance managed by Qatar Airways at 10:00 AM PST. ETA (HEATHROW/LHR): 06:30 PM GMT Insha’Allah ..”


The airport administration has completed the preparations after receiving a copy of the Lahore High Court’s verdict that allowed Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad.

The Interior Ministry has also released a memorandum clearing Nawaz to fly out of the country.
