Web Desk (June 5, 2017): Speculations are rife that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has signed Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s next film Fanney Khan opposite Anil Kapoor. Anil and Aishwarya will share the screen space after a gap of 17 years in a movie.
Meanwhile, KriArj Entertainment has collaborated with Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra Pictures for the project. The duo worked together in films like ‘Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’ (2000) and ‘Taal’ (1999). To be honest, they weren’t really a sensational pair but Ash and Anil were one of the unconventional pairs of those times.
On the other hand, the makers of the film confirmed that Ash has joined the film’s cast and also revealed that the film is slated to go on floors by the end of the year. Talking about his role in the film, Anil had said a few months back that he will essay the role of a colourful Muslim character from the Bhendi Bazar area of South Mumbai and will have a specific personality and attitude. From what we have heard, Fanney Khan is a musical comedy revolving around a father-daughter relationship.
Aishwarya was last seen is Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. Though she has been in the news for another film with hubby Abhishek Bachchan, she hasn’t really made any confirmations about it as of now. Rakyesh Omprakash who has helmed films like ‘Mirzya’ and Delhi 6 is currently working on ‘Mere Pyare Prime Minister’ that revolves around the friendship of four kids living in the slums.
To everyone’s knowledge, Fanney Khan is all about a comedy musical. The film was supposed to be an official remake of ‘Everybody’s Famous’ which was directed in English and Dutch by Dominique Deruddere. However, it is now learnt that the makers are making changes to the scrpit.
Aishwarya made her comeback to Bollywood with Jazbaa, which was also starred by Irrfan Khan.
