AK Dogar Submits Plea in SC Against NS Disqualification

Lahore (November 2, 2017): Top lawyer AK Dogar has filed petition in Supreme Court seeking nullifying the apex court decision of Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification as prime minister stating that only parliamentarians can disqualify the PM on the basis of dishonesty as he was elected by the parliamentarians.

According to the details, Legal expert AK Dogar has submitted the petition in the Lahore registry of the Supreme Court and named Nawaz, his two sons, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and the National Accountability Bureau as parties to the case.Dogar has argued that under Article 183(3), Nawaz was not granted the right to appeal the Supreme Court’s verdict.

“The article is in conflict with Islamic law,” he stated. “Nawaz Sharif should be granted the right to appeal because it is a legal and constitutional right.”

It is worth mentioning that Sharif family’s review petition had already been rejected by the top court.
