ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Khusro Bakhtiar has said that the economy is heading towards stability while the increase of exports will help to end the current account deficit.
Addressing a presser in Islamabad Khusro Bakhtiar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to visit China on October 7 to strengthen two countries’ relations further adding that we wanted to take the CPEC on more zeal and all the projects of it will be streamlined.
The minister said that in his visit to China the PM will suggest a project of Bunji dam which will produce 7000 MW electricity adding that there is need to promote steel sector in the country while new projects will be established to fulfill the shortage of oil and gas in the country and the government is taking initiative to overcome gas shortage in the winter season.
He said that the ML-1 project needs to be given immediate attention while agricultural, fisheries and livestock projects will be started along coastline adding that Pakistan needs to give urgent attention to the promotion of science and technology.
Khusro Bakhtiar said that progress has been made in the country projects with China and it is expected joint projects with China will be started in November adding that the CPEC will not only benefit Pakistan and China but it will prove to be better for the whole region.
He informed that the coastal highway project has been finalized and all the projects of the CPEC including energy will be completed on time adding that the master plan of Gawadar has also been finalized.
