By-polls NA Results: PML-N 4, PTI 4, PML-Q 2, MMA 1

Islamabad (October 14, 2018): According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won four seats each in NA while  Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) has claimed two NA seats whereas MMA got one seat. 

NA-35

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) candidate Zahid Durrani won with 60,944 votes. Whereas his contender PTI’s Nasim Ali Shah secured 37,489 votes.

NA-53

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Ali Nawaz Awan won the by-election on Islamabad-II NA-53 after securing 56664 votes.

NA-56

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Malik Sohail Khan claimed victory on Attock-II NA-56 constituency by securing 125665 votes. He defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Malik Khurrum Ali Khan.

NA-60

PTI’s Sheikh Rashid Shafique won by-polls in NA-60 by securing 44,483 votes. Whereas his contender PML-N’s Sajjad took 43,836 votes.

NA-63

PTI’s Mansoor Hayat Khan has won with 71,728 votes while PML-N’s Aqeel Malik got second position with 45,490 votes.

NA-65

PML-Q’s Chaudhry Salik Hussain won the by-polls in NA-65 Chakwal with 98,364 votes. Hussain was followed by TLP’s Mohammad Yaqoob who could only secure 34,811 votes.

NA-69

Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi won election from Gujrat-11 NA-69 by securing 61723 votes.

NA-103

PML-N’s Gohar Ali Khan won by-polls in NA-103 with 76626 votes. PTI’s Mohammad Saadullah stood runner-up with 63583 votes.

NA-124

PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi won the by-polls in NA-124 Lahore with 75012 votes. Abbasi was followed by PTI’s Ghulam Mohiuddin, who could secure 30115 votes.

NA-131

PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique snatches victory from PTI as  Imran khan had won the seat on 25th July, by 59,523 votes. PTI’s Hammyun Akhtar Khan remained second securing   49,877 votes.

It is pertinent to mention here that results for NA-131 have been stopped but on the other hand, Khawaja Saad Rafique has declared himself victorious.

NA-243

PTI’s Alamgir Khan won by-polls in NA-243 by bagging 35727 votes., MQM-P’s Amir Chishti stood runner-up with 15,113 votes to his credit.

PB-35

Independent candidate Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani leads with 1470 votes. Raisani followed by BAP’s Sardar Noor Ahmed with 1034 votes.

PB-40

BNP’s Mohammad Akbar won PB-40 by-election with 23722 votes, followed by independent candidate Mir Shafiqur Rehman Mengal, who secured 14312 votes.

PK-3

PML-N’s Sardar Khan wins PK-3 by-polls with 16824 votes to his credit, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results. PTI’s Sajid Ali stood second in the run with 15911 votes.

PK-7

ANP’s Waqar Ahmad Khan won PK-7 by-polls securing 14096 votes. PTI’s Fazal Maula followed Khan with 13425 votes.

PK-44

PTI’s Aqibullah Khan won by-election in PK-44 with 18676 votes. Khan was followed by ANP’s Ghulam Hassan, who secured 17067 votes.

PK-53

ANP’s Ahmed Khan won by-election in PK-53 with 19065 votes to his credit. PTI’s Muhammad Abdul Salam stood runner-up with 19044 votes.

PK-61

PTI’s Mohammad Ibrahim Khattak won PK-61 by-election by attaining 14557 votes. He was followed by ANP’s Noor Alam Khan with 9282 votes.

PK-64

PTI’s Liaquat Khan won the by-election in PK-64 securing 22775 votes. ANP’s Mohammad Shahid stood runner-up with 9560 votes.

PK-78

ANP’s Samar Haroon Bilour won PK-78 by-election by attaining 20916 votes. PTI’s Muhammad Irfan Abdul Salman followed Bilour with 16819 votes.

PK-97

PTI’s Faisal Amin Khan won PK-97 by-election by bagging 18170 votes. Khan was followed by PPP’s Farhan Afzal Malik, who secured 7609 votes.

PK-99

PTI’s Aghaz Ikramullah Gandapur won by-polls in PK-99 securing 30330 votes. Independent candidate Fatehullah Khan stood runner-up in the race with 22825 votes.

PP-3

PTI’s Muhammad Akbar Khan leads with 5006 votes. Khan is followed by PML-N’s Iftikhar Ahmed Khan with 2724 votes.

PP-27

PML-N’s Nasir Mehmood leads with 22115 votes, followed by PTI’s Shahnawaz Raja with 21129 votes.

PP-87

PTI’s Malik Ahmad Khan elected unopposed.

PP-103

PML-N’s Jafar Ali leads with 1740 votes, followed by PTI’s Shamsher Haider, who has so far bagged 1420 votes.

PP-118

Independent candidate Chaudhary Bilal Asghar leads with 358 votes. He is followed by PTI’s Asad Zaman with 302 votes.

PP-164

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Sohail Shaukat Butt leads with 4386 votes. Whereas his contender Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Chowdhury Yusuf Ali has secured 3345 votes.

PP-165

PML-N’s Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar won by-polls in PP-165 by bagging 28589 votes, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results. PTI’s Mohammad Mansha Sindhu stood runner-up with 23149 votes to his credit.

PP-201

PTI’s Samsam Bukhari won by-polls in PP-201 Sahiwal with 58280 votes, unofficial and unconfirmed results suggested. Bukhari was followed by PML-N’s Muhammad Tufail, who attained 51622 votes.

PP-222

Independent candidate Qasim Abbas Khan leads with 1356 votes against PTI’s Sohail Ahmed who has acquired second position with 354 votes.

PP-261

PTI’s Fawaz Ahmed won PP-261 by-election with 29526 votes. Ahmed was followed by PPP’s Makhdoom Hassan Raza Hashim, who attained 14995 votes.

PML-N’s Sardar Awais Leghari won the by-election in PP-292 by securing 32845 votes. Whereas PTI’s Sardar Maqsood Laghari stood runner-up with 21938 votes.

PS-30

PPP’s Syed Ahmed Raza Shah Jeelani won by-polls in PS-30 with 36600 votes to his credit. Jeelani was followed by GDA’s Syed Muharram Ali Shah with 21200 votes.

PS-87

PPP’s Muhammad Sajid leads with 2867 votes. Sajid is followed by PTI’s Qadir Bux Khan Gabol with 1508 votes.

Around 9.5 million ballot papers have been printed for polling in 11 National Assembly constituencies and 24 provincial constituencies. 641 candidates are contesting the by-elections.Approximately 9.3 million voters will cast their vote in Sunday’s by-elections in 7,489 polling stations across the country, of which 1,727 polling stations have been declared sensitive.

ECP has also issued a code of conduct for the security staff to follow, security staff will be answerable to the presiding officer and the returning officers (RO) and will not interfere during the counting process.National Assembly

The national assembly constituencies where the elections will be held include NA-35 Bannu, NA-53 Islamabad, NA-56 Attock, NA-60 Rawalpindi, NA-63 Rawalpindi, NA-65 Chakwal, NA-69 Gujrat, NA-103 Faisalabad, NA 124 Lahore, NA-131 Lahore and NA 243 Karachi East.

A total of 370 candidates are in the run for the elections to be held on eleven National Assembly and 24 Provincial Assemblies seats.

Punjab Assembly

The Punjab Assembly constituencies where the by-polls will be held are,  PP-3 Attock, PP-27 Jhelum, PP-103 Faisalabad, PP-118 Toba Tek Singh, PP-164 Lahore, PP 165 Lahore, PP 201 Sahiwal, PP 222 Multan, PP 261 Rahim Yaar Khan, PP-272 Muzaffargarh and PP-292 D.G. Khan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the by-polls will be held in PK-3 Swat, Pk-7 Swat, PK-44 Swabi, PK-53 Mardan, PK-61 Nowshera, PK-64 Nowshera, PK-78 Peshawar, PK-97 Dera Ismail Khan and PK-99 Dera Ismail Khan.

Sindh, Balochistan Assembly

By polls, on two constituencies each of Sindh Assembly and Balochistan will also be held. These are PS-87 Malir, PS-30 Khairpur, PB-35 Mastung and PB-40 Khuzdar.

Security Plan

Special security plan has been chalked out to ensure foolproof security for sensitive polling station on polling day. He added the security plan will be implemented in coordination with the provincial governments and departments concerned as the commission has planned special security measures to ensure the security of voters for having a better turnout.

According to sources, 40,000 army personnel will be performing duties at polling stations, while around 100,000 police personnel will be performing their duties on polling day.

According to ECP, army personnel will be posted inside and outside the polling stations to deal with any untoward situation. While ballot papers and other poll-related material will be dispatched under the supervision of army personnel.Directives have also been issued to the power ministry to not perform load shedding during poll timings.

To ensure effective security arrangements on by-election day and conducive environment for voters, Islamabad police have decided to deploy more than 3000 policemen outside the polling stations in NA-53.

SSP Islamabad Syed Mohammad Amin Bukhari said that a total of 3000 policemen would perform security duties on polling day in Capital while NA-53 has been divided into four zones, six sectors and nine sub-sectors. Every zone would be supervised by an officer of SP level while sectors and sub-sectors will be headed by ASP/SDPOs and Station House Officers receptively.Related imageSensitive Polling Stations 

As many as 1,727 polling stations out of the total 7,489, set up for by-polls being held in 35 constituencies of national and provincial assemblies on Sunday, have been categorised as ‘highly sensitive’.

According to details shared by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), 848 out of total 5,193 polling stations in Punjab, 544 of total 1,555 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 201 of total 544 in Sindh and 134 of total 197 in Balochistan have been classified as ‘highly sensitive’

The proportion of most sensitive polling stations is highest in Balochistan (68.02 per cent), followed by KP (34.98pc), Sindh (20.20pc) and Punjab (16.32pc).

An official of the ECP said that security cameras had been installed at all the sensitive polling stations which would be guarded by army troops. He said deployment of troops was started on Friday and that the troops would remain deployed there till Oct 15, a day after the polling.

Overseas Voters

Overseas Pakistanis will vote for the first time in the by-polls. The commission said that as many as 7,364 eligible I-voters have received their voters’ passes for bye-election being held today in 35 constituencies.

The commission had issued voters passes to these successful registered overseas Pakistanis during the registration process of I-voters through their email ID and all registered I-voters would be able to cast their vote in bye-elections.

The registered I-voters will be responsible to protect the information of voter pass and the I-voters should avoid sharing any information about their login and voter pass with anyone for the safety of such information.

The ECP had started registration of overseas Pakistani voters from September 1 for giving them the right to vote in bye-polls. All overseas Pakistanis had been asked to register themselves as voters by the due date.

Control Room for Overseas

The Election Commission of Pakistan has set up a control room to redress the complaint or problems of overseas Pakistan for casting their votes during the by-poll on October 14, today.

According to ECP the overseas Pakistanis who yet not have a voting password they can approach the control room to solve the issue as no one can cast their vote without voter password.

ECP said that the control will remain open between 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

The commission had also extended the date for registration of overseas Pakistanis from September 15 to September 17 for exercising their right of casting vote in bye-elections.
