Alleged Abduction, Conversion: Hindu Sisters Approach Court For Protection

GHOTKI: Two Hindu girls, who were allegedly abducted and converted to Islam later on, approached a court in Bahawalpur for seeking protection here on Sunday.

Both Hindu sisters were appeared before the court and confessed that they both left their home and weren’t abducted by anyone and that they have accepted Islam as a religion by their will.

According to sources the girl named Reena has changed her name to Shazia and is married to a person named Barkat. Meanwhile, the girl named Raveena has changed her name to Asia Bibi and is married to a guy named Safdar.

Earlier today, State Minister of Interior Shehrayar Afridi has sought a detailed report into this matter from Inspector General of Sindh Police.

Shehryar Afridi while commenting on the matter has said that both girls are Pakistan’s responsibility and the government will ensure their safe return.

Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Hussain Chaudhry also informed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has taken notice of the forced abduction and conversion of two Hindu sisters in Sindh.

Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter and informed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has taken notice of the issue and ordered CM Punjab to probe the matter further as the latest reports suggest that they both have been taken to Rahim Yar Khan after their abduction.

He wrote on his timeline; “The PM has ordered Punjab CM to probe the matter of alleged forced conversion of two Hindu sisters as the latest reports suggest that they both have been taken to Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan district.”

“The PM has also ordered to recover the girls as soon as possible,” he added.

“The white colour represents the minorities in our country both of the provincial government should jointly-work to counter such issues,” he concluded.

It is pertinent to mention here that two Hindu sisters were allegedly abducted from Daharki area of Sindh province and were taken to Rahim Yar Khan Punjab.

A social media confessional video was surfaced which showed that the two sisters have accepted Islam but the family came out to protest as they believed that they were forced to issue a confessional statement.
