Islamabad (February 28, 2018): Pakistani Ambassador in United States Aizaz Chaudhry is trying to get an extension in his job tenure as his tenure has lapsed and is now considered as a retired officer.
According to diplomatic sources, Aizaz Chaudhry is in Islamabad after being retired and is eyeing to get an extension in his job and secure the same post of Ambassador to US.
The diplomatic sources confirmed that the extension in his job tenure is under consideration and it was due to this that he had postponed his visit to the United States.
It is pertinent to mention here that Aizaz Chaudhry was appointed an ambassador to the United States in February 2017 by the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and he took charge of his responsibilities in March.
Earlier he was serving as the foreign secretary and later after his transfer from the post, it was taken over by Tehmina Janjua.
