Hollywood: Gerard Butler goes from hunter to hunted in the new trailer for the upcoming Angel Has Fallen, as Secret Service Agent Mike Banning undertakes his most dangerous mission yet.
The new film is directed by Shot Caller’s Ric Roman Waugh, and also stars Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Tim Blake Nelson, Piper Perabo, with Nick Nolte, and Danny Huston.
Speaking about Angel Has Fallen earlier this year, star Gerard Butler praised the filmmakers for taking it in a “brave” new direction.
“We could have just made Tokyo Has Fallen and people would have had a blast, but what else would we have been saying? I’m not just going to turn up; we had to take this in a new direction,” he said.
“It’s the same man in the same position, but it’s a much deeper, darker journey. There’s still huge set pieces and we made sure not to disappoint the fans of the first two, but you’re really inside this character, watching him try to get his shit together.
“I feel like we’ve been brave in taking this new direction. If it pays off, then maybe we make a fourth. If it doesn’t, then hey, I had a blast.”
