Angelina Jolie In Sindh To Show Solidarity With Flood Victims

Dadu: The Hollywood star and special representative of United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR) Angelina Jolie has reached Sindh for solidarity with the flood victims and for improving the relief operations.

Angelina Jolie has reached Dadu city of Sindh where she took aerial view of the flood affected areas of Dadu and Juhi via travelling in a helicopter.

The Hollywood star also distributed aid goods to the flood victims by riding on a boat.

The aim and purpose of the United Nation special representative is to show solidarity with the flood victims and improving the relief operations.

According to a press release issued by the International Rescue Committee, Angelina Jolie arrived in Pakistan to witness and gain an understanding of the situation and to hear from people about their needs and steps to prevent such suffering in the future.

She will review activities of the UN High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR) in Pakistan.

Angelina Jolie has visited Pakistan twice before as She visited Pakistan for the first time in 2005 after the earthquake for meeting earthquake victims and during 2010 floods.

The special UN representative will also visit local organizations helping Afghan refugees and homeless people where she will talk on climate change and migration.

The visit will help draw the world’s attention to the flood victims. More than 1500 people died from the flood, and more than 3 crore people were affected.
