Three More Polio Cases Found in KP, Balochistan

CHAMAN: Three new cases of polio reported on Monday from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, taking the total number of cases detected across the country to 16.

According to the KP Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), two new cases of polio were found in Bannu district; the crippling disease was confirmed in a one-year-old girl in Jani Khel area and in a two-and-a-half-year boy in UC Havid.

In Balochistan, the first polio case of the year was reported from Qilla Abdullah Districts.

According to details, the affected child’s parents never let the kid be administered polio drops whenever vaccination teams visited their house.

It is pertinent to mention that Qila Abdullah is considered as the most sensitive area regarding polio.

The total number of polio cases reported from the province in 2018 was three.
