Anti-polio drive has kicked off all across the country amidst stringent security this morning.
The four-day campaign was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah by administering polio drops to the children at the Government hospital in Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi where over 2.2 million children across 188 Union Councils will be administered the anti-polio vaccine by 4,500 teams of volunteers.
Over 7.6 million children up to the age of five years will be administered the anti-polio drops across Sindh.
The three-day drive has also begun in Lahore where over 1.6 million children will be administered the polio vaccine.
In Balochistan polio vaccine will be administered to around 1.7 million children.
Polio teams are going house-to-house to administer polio vaccine to the children In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including 13 districts declared as high risk in Peshawar as well as FATA. Stringent security arrangements are being made. During the drive over 3.65 million children will be administered anti-polio vaccine Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Swat, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan. In FATA over a million children will be administered the vaccine.
In Multan over 800,000 children will be administered the vaccine during the three-day anti-polio drive.
