Appointment Challenged: IHC Issues Notice to Pres NBP Saeed

Islamabad (July 27, 2017): Islamabad High Court has issued notice to Saeed Ahmad in a case challenging his appointment as President of the state owned National Bank Pakistan (NBP).

The petitioner argues that a co-accused involved in criminal case could not be appointed the president of NBP.

Arguing  further that the JIT that probed the Panama case has accused him of being involved in criminal the petition seeks immediate removal of Saeed Ahmad from his post. It also seeks withdrawal of all the facilities from him.

Besides Saeed Ahmad the petition also names Prime Minister Secretariat, federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Governor State Bank, and Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as respondents.
