PESHAWAR: An accountability court in Peshawar on Tuesday once again indicted Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Arbab Alamgir and Asma Alamgir in assets beyond income case while the notes pertaining possessing foreign properties were removed from the new charge sheet.
The court held hearing of assets beyond income case against Arbab Alamgir and Asma Alamgir where both of them were appeared before the court.
Arbab and Asma rejected any involvement in the case while the court summoned four witnesses in next hearing adjourned till March 5.
Later in the day, the former advisor and PPP leader Arbab Alamgir and Asma Alamgir interacted with the journalists, saying that they wanted to spread message to all Pakistanis to be proud of their judiciary as courts were still independent even under an ineligible government.
Asma said that she has succeeded in the fight against fake stories of corruption and irregularities during the last four years. Asma termed the latest decision of the court as moral victory. She said that Imran Khan should produce their ministers before the court first.
Earlier on January 10, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court indicted both of the leaders in assets beyond income case over allegedly possessing properties in Pakistan, Dubai and United Kingdom (UK).
