KARACHI: Former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar was given clean chit in the illegal arrest of Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Khwaja Izhar from the house.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah had constituted a committee to fix responsibility after the Opposition Leader was arrested by the SSP from his house which was dubbed illegal.
The committee was headed by DIG South Dr Jamil which cleared Rao Anwar of the allegation of misusing of authority.
Sources said that few days ago the suspended police officer had met Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, during which he had apprised him of the legal requirements for arrest of Khwaja Izhar.
It is to be mentioned here that a few months ago the Rao Anwar had reportedly called on former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai wherein he had discussed all issues with him.
The SSP was restored a week after his suspension after protest and sit-ins were held in different areas of the city.
