Parachinar(June 30, 2017): Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached Parachinar on Friday morning, as protest sit-in staged by local residents against deadly twin blast continued for eight consecutive days.
According to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached the tribal town of Parachinar.

Army chief will meet the affectees of the blast and tribal elders in Parachinar. The COAS will be briefed on security situation in the tribal town.
It is to mentioned here that the protesting tribesmen are demanding those behind the blasts be brought to book and compensation be given to the victims and injured.
Though, on Thursday Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced compensation money for the families of people killed and those who were injured in the Parachinar blasts on June 23.
As per the announcement, Rs1 million will be given to the families of people killed in the two blasts. Rs0.5 million has been announced for those left injured by the explosions. However, the affectees rejected the compensation.
