RAWALPINDI: Director General of ISPR Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that Pakistani army are merely participating in joint military exercises in Saudi Arab and not part of any war drive.
Rejecting a news of a foreign news agency he said that Pakistan has promised to defend regional sovereignty of Saudi Arab in case of threat, however, Pakistani army is not a part of any war drive at present. The ongoing Pak-Saudi military exercise is a part of such routine exercises.
He said that 292 Pakistani soldiers are taking part in the joint military exercises under the name Samsam V. These military exercises are held each year and last year they were held in Jhelum, Pakistan, he added.
It may be mentioned here that a foreign news agency had claimed that Pakistan has made the final decision to send army to help Saudi Arab’s ongoing actions in Yemen.
