Islamabad (Sep 7, 2017): The Interior Ministry on Monday extended army’s stay in the federal capital for another three months.
According to a notification issued here, the extension was granted on the request of Islamabad Chief Commissioner.
The Army personnel have been deployed in the federal capital in aid to civil administration and have been guarding important national installations and buildings.
Some 350 army personnel were deployed in Islamabad under article 245 of the Constitution.
Army was called in in the federal capital during the 2014 PTI and PAT sit-in in the capital and since then the troop are here. After every quarters, the stay of the troop is extended by the Ministry on a summary put up by Commissioner Islamabad.
