ISLAMABAD: Interior Ministry has extended the stay of Pakistan Army troops deployed in the federal capital for another by 90 days.
The Army was called in in the federal capital in aid of civil administration to maintain law and order situation some two years back under Article 245 of the constitution.
Sources said that Chief Commissioner Islamabad had sent a summary for extension in stay of the Army troops in the federal capital for 90 days to Interior Ministry. The Ministry while formally approving the summary has issued a notification to this effect.
It is to be mentioned here that some two year ago, the federal government had invoked Article 245 of the constitution and the stay has been extended for 90 days after every three months.
