Asad Umar Takes Oath as Planning Minister

ISLAMABAD: Former finance minister Asad Umar on Tuesday took oath as minister for planning, development and reforms.

President Dr Arif Alvi administered the oath to Asad Umar at a ceremony held at the President House.

Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiyar, who has been holding the planning portfolio since the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf came to power, was made petroleum minister.

On Monday, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Infor­mation and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a tweet, revealed the reshuffle in the cabinet through a tweet, saying Mr Umar has replaced Mr Bakhtiyar as minister for planning and development, while the latter has been given the petroleum portfolio.
