ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has rejected allegation to take money from ISI to defeat PPP in General Elections of 1990.
According to details, Prime Minister has recorded his statement to the investigating team of FIA, regarding Mehran Bank Scandal today. PM Nawaz adopted stance in his statement that he did not receive any money from ISI to defeat PPP in General Elections of 1990, saying that the allegations levelled on him were baseless. According to sources, PM Nawaz said taht he never received funds from any public institution or agency for political pupose. PM said in his statement that he used his personal money and party fund for politics.
ISI had distributed 14 crore rupees among politicians before General Elections 1990. Former DG ISI Lieutinent General Asad Durrani and Former President Mehran Bank Younus Habib had admitted to pay 35 lac rupees to Mian Nawaz Sharif in Asghar Khan case. Asad Durrani and Younus Habib had also admitted to pay the funds after instructed by Former Army Chief General Mirza Aslam Baig, while Former Army Chief Mirza Aslam Baig had adopted stance that he had done that on orders by Former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
