Asia Cup 2020: India Refuse To Play In Pakistan

Sports Desk (December 14, 2018): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly refused to send their team for the Asia Cup 2020 and the message has been communicated to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Pakistan got the hosting rights for the Asia Cup 2020, which will be a T20I event involving the top teams from the continent. The Times of India reported on Friday that according to the BCCI, sending their team to Pakistan is ‘out of the question’.

“Playing in Pakistan is out of the question and so the hosts have been told to think about an alternate arrangement,” the Indian news agency quoted a BCCI official.

The decision was conveyed to the officials of the PCB during the Asian Cricket Council meeting in Dhaka on Thursday. Asia Cup 2018, which was to take place in India, was shifted to the UAE on PCB’s refusal of playing in the neighbouring country.

Pakistan will have the option of hosting the multi-nation cricketing event in their adopted home, UAE.

Pakistan will host the Asia Cup after 10 years, it was last hosted by them in 2010.
