Asia Cup: Hong Kong Suffer Humiliating Defeat From Pak

Dubai (September 16, 2018): Pakistan have beaten Hong Kong by eight wickets in the opening Group A match of the Asia Cup-2018 in Dubai on Sunday.

Imam ul Haq stuck a fifty as Pakistan demolished Asian minnows Hong Kong by 8 wickets in the second match of the ongoing Asia Cup at Dubai Cricket Stadium in UAE on Sunday.

Babar Azam also chipped in with 33 while Fakhar Zaman made 24 as Pakistan chased down the target of 117 in 24th over and eight wickets in hands.

It proved another cakewalk for Pakistan, like their two previous victories against Hong Kong, by 173 runs in the 2004 Asia Cup in Colombo and by 155 in Karachi four years later.

This was a perfect warm-up for Pakistan ahead of their high-profile showdown with arch-rival India, also in Dubai on Wednesday.

Earlier, Hong Kong had set 117-run target for Pakistan in the opening Group A match of the Asia Cup-2018 in Dubai on Sunday.

Pakistan´s bowling attack was too hot to handle for Hong Kong in Dubai as Usman Shinwari finished with 3-19 and Hasan Ali took 2-19, while leg-spinner Shadab Khan managed 2-31 to bowl Hong Kong out for 116 in 37.1 overs.

Innings Break: Hong Kong – 116-10 (37.1 ov).

Aizaz Khan (27) and Kitchit Shah  (26) top-scored for Hong Kong and build a fifty-run partnership. This is Hong Kong’s lowest total against Pakistan.

Top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage, with the top two from that table contesting the September 28 final in Dubai.
