Asia Cup T-20: India beat BD by 45 runs in inaugural match

India beat Bangladesh by 45 runs in the inaugural match of Asia T-20 Tournament. Rohit Sharma was the most prominent Indian batsman by making 83 runs.

Chasing 167-run win target Bangladesh managed to score 121 runs at the loss of seven wickets.

Bangladesh elected to let India bat which scored 166 runs at the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Man of Match Rohit Sharma scored 83 and off 55 balls and this included seven fours and three sixes. Bangladesh’s Al-Amin Hussain grabbed three Indian wickets.

In reply, the Bangladesh spinners went back to the pavilion by only 15 runs. Mohammad Mithun and Soumya Sarkar managed to score just a single and 11 runs. Sabir Rehman scored 44  runs.

India’s Ashish Nehra removed three Bangladeshi wickets for 23 runs.
