Karachi (December 09, 2018): At least six people were injured including a woman on Saturday night in an explosion near a Milad gathering organised by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area.
The incident took place near Perfume Chowk where the MQM-Pakistan had organised a religious Milad gathering.

Senior MQM-P leaders, including MQM-P Convener and Federal IT Minister Khalid Maqbool, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, and others were present at the location when the blast occurred.
DIG East Aamir Farooqui has said that it was a cracker blast. He said a cracker bomb-type was hurled in a box which resulted in injuries to at least six people.
The injured were rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medical treatment. Two of the injured are stated to be in critical condition.

However, the MQM leaders remained unhurt in the attack, he said.
Surprisingly, Police said that the gathering was being held without taking prior permission from the relevant authorities. The SSP East said the party did not seek permission and clearance from police for the event.
While Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Imran Ismail have taken notice of the incident.
The CM has directed the Karachi commissioner and the additional inspector general Sindh police to immediately submit him report on the incident.
