AT Rejects Nomination Papers of PPP’s Manzoor Wassan

Sukkur(June 27, 2018): An appellate tribunal on Monday rejected Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Manzoor Wassan’s nomination papers for PS- 27 Khairpur.

Mir Zaheer Talpur, a member of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), had filed an appeal against Wassan’s nomination papers with the returning officer over undeclared assets in Dubai.

According to Wassan, he had declared everything in his nomination papers and was not sure why his papers were rejected.

Wassan added, he would consult with the Sindh High Court over the matter of his nomination papers’ rejection.

According to details election tribunal heard PTI provincial chief Sardar Muhammad Rind’s appeal against returning officer rejection of his nomination papers. After hearing the arguments the tribunal has upheld the RO’s decision of rejection of his papers.

Yar Muhammad Rind nomination papers were rejected over cases of murder in Dhadhr police station in 2017 and fake degree case. PTI provincial chief was contesting from NA-260 and PB-17.Yar Muhammad Rind decided to approach Balochistan High Court against the election tribunal decision.

Meanwhile, the nomination papers of PPP provincial president Ali Madad Jatak were also rejected and declared disqualified for the next election, however, he has decided to approach BHC.

He was the candidate from PB-31 Quetta for the upcoming election.

GE 2018: Last Day For Decisions On Appeals Today:

Today is the last day for decisions by Appellate Tribunals on appeals filed against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers for the National and provincial assemblies’ seats.

The revised list of candidates will be published on Thursday.Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by Friday and the Election Commission will allot election symbols to candidates on Saturday.

Polling for the general elections will be held on 25th of next month.
