Sargodha (July 13, 2017): Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) adjourned the case against Member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti till July 20.
At the start of the hearing today Dasti’s counsel Asif Bilal filed an application seeking exemption from personal appearance for his client who has gone to Islamabad with his sister for her medical checkup of his sister who is a cancer patient.
The court granted the said exemption adjourned the hearing till July 20 directing Dasti’s counsel to ensure presence of his client on the next hearing.
It may be mentioned here that on Juy 3 Anti-Terrorism Court in Sargodha had granted bail and ordered Dasti released.
Dasti was arrested by the Punjab police from Layyah on June 9 for forcibly opening a canal gate in Muzaffargarh on May 28, following which the irrigation department lodged a case against him.
On June 17, police had registered a case against Member National Assembly Jamshed Dasti for possession of illegal weapons. The case was registered against MPA Jamshed Dasti in Chowk Sarwar Shaheed police station for allegedly holding illegal weapon.
Police had claimed that a G-3 gun and 15 bullets were recovered from the possession of Dasti. Whereas the gun’s permit had been issued on December 30, 2014 and it expired on December 29,2015. It is pertinent to mention here that Dasti was granted bail in three out of four cases.
