Maryam Chairs Meeting to Discuss Urmchi-Gwadar Culture Caravan

Islamabad (June 8, 2017): State Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb chaired a high level meeting in Islamabad to discuss plans for running a cultural caravan from Urmchi, China to Gwadar.

Director General Pakistan National Council of Arts, Syed Jamal Shah briefed the State Minister regarding the whole concept of Cultural Caravan proposed to travel through the CPEC route and the documentation of art and culture that will be done along the route.

He told Aurangzeb that the caravan will be comprised of artists, musicians, dancers, photographers, anthropologists, writers and film makers from both the countries.

Marriyum Aurangzeb remarked that the concept will further help cement people to people contacts between Pakistan and China as cultural exchanges are one of the essential components of maintaining cordial relations between the two states.
