ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan says progress and development of newly merged tribal areas is the major priority in the upcoming budget.
He was speaking during the briefing of the 2019-20 budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad today (Monday).
The meeting briefed about the basic structure of the budget.
It was apprised that special focus is being paid to enhance the economic resources of the province.
To ensure the development of newly merged areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister directed that austerity measures should be taken according to the economic situation of the country.
The Prime Minister also appreciated suggestions from federal departments in cutting down expenses.
He said savings of these cut downs will be spent on the development of less developed areas.
The meeting was attended amongst others by Minister for Planning and Development Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Adviser on Commerce Razaq Dawood, Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan, Finance Minister KP, Senior Minister KP, Atif Khan, the Governor State Bank of Pakistan and the Chairman FBR.
