Australia Defeat Pakistan In Second Test By One Inning and 48 Runs

ADELAIDE: Australia have defeated Pakistan in second test by one inning and 48 runs.

The Kangaroos have clean swept the test series by two-zero while it is Pakistan’s 14th defeat in Australia.Shah Masood scored 68, Asad Shafique 57 and Muhammad Rizwan could add 45 runs on the scoreboard.

From the Kangroos side Nethan Line took five wickets while Hezel Wood sent three players to the pavilion.

Day Four started with Pakistan’s back against the wall. At 39 for 3, the onus lied on opener Shan Masood and experienced middle-order campaigner in Asad Shafiq. While the duo added an impressive 103-run stand for the fourth-wicket, there was much more expected of them.

As has been the case with the touring side, their batters failed to convert their fifties into triple-figure scores. Masood fell for 68 whereas Shafiq departed for a well-made 57.

Pakistan avoided the inevitable for more time as Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan and Yasir Shah got starts but fell in quick succession. While the bulk of the job was done by the pacers, Nathan Lyon joined the party with his extra turn and bounce to return with 5 for 69. As a result, Pakistan folded for a moderate 239 all-out in 82 overs to lose another clash by an innings.
