LONDON: ICC World Cup 2019: Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of his side’s next encounter against Pakistan after picking up a side strain injury while playing against India.
In what comes as a huge blow to Australia in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of the game against Pakistan after picking up an injury during his side’s 36-run defeat at the hands of India on Sunday.
Stoinis, who is one of the vital cogs of the current Australian setup, picked up a side strain against India and is all set to be replaced by all-rounder Mitchell Marsh.
Marsh, who was not named in Australia’s final 15-man squad for the tournament, is on his way to England after being called up as a replacement for Stoinis. While Stoinis has been sidelined for the game against Pakistan, Australia is yet to decide if he will be replaced by Marsh permanently for the entire tournament.
Stoinis featured in the clash against India and was far from impressive with both the bat and the ball.
