Islamabad (July 6, 2017): Air Chief Sohail Aman on Thursday said that the aviation city was established as per the Vision of Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Addressing a ceremony here in connection with the establishment of aviation city at Aeronautical complex Kamra, the PAF chief said that for strengthening defense of the country establishment of institutions like avian city were necessary.

The aviation city has been established at Aeronautical complex Kamra for development of avian industry by improving technological and technical fields. Research and designing are among the many features of the Aviation City.
PAF chief while addressing the ceremony said that the city was established with the cooperation of the government under the vision of PAF.
He described the establishment of the aviation city as an important step towards achieving self-reliance in defense production.
He said that it was also an important lead towards production of fifth generation fighter jets in the country. He said the aviation city which will help support economic activities
The Air chief said that Medical Air Universities were also being established in Karachi and Islamabad.
Addressing the ceremony as chief guest, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that a strong air force and aerospace platform was imperative for a strong Pakistan.

The Minister said Pakistan Air Force had played a critical role in the war against terrorism and without its contributions the nation would have not registered the immense successes it has against the menace.
Ahsan Iqbal noted that air force was an important element of any nation’s power which has assumed new importance for national security.
He said the establishment of aviation city has come at a very appropriate time and fulfils the very need where knowledge and industry can work together to create new opportunities for Pakistan in the field of aerospace.
