ISLAMABAD: The capital police have accelerated preparations to maintain law and order in view of the anti-government “Azadi March” announced by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) on October 31.
The police department has cancelled the leaves of all its officials in Islamabad in view of the possible sit-in announced by the party in the federal capital.
The leaves have been cancelled to ensure the availability of enough personnel for security and traffic arrangements during the Azadi March.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Islamabad police department summoned additional contingents from other provinces for security measures of the federal capital.
According to a notification, Islamabad police have summoned 85 reserves from Punjab constable, 70 from PHP, 35 from SPU, 80 from training institute, 233 from Trainers, 74 from Police College Sahala, 68 from Police Training College Lahore, 52 from Farooqabad, 44 from Multan, 32 from Sargodha and 44 from Rawalpindi.
Each reserve will comprise of 20 police officers.
On the other hand, the Basic Recruit Course, which was scheduled to be started from Oct 28 in Multan, Sargodha and Farooqabad, has also postponed for an indefinite period.
